BIO

Wouter Vandenabeele is an internationally recognized violinist, composer, arranger and artistic director of many musical projects.

In his musical early years, Wouter was active as a musician with the folk group Ambrozijn, a group that was at the basis of the folk revival of the 90s. He went on to work as a composer, arranger and artistic director of various groups and projects.

Thus he founded the world orchestra Olla Vogala which, under his direction, conquered a unique place in the Flemish music landscape. With his Chansons-reeks (Chanson sans paroles, Chansons pour la fin d’un jour en Chansons pour le temps qui reste) laat hij zijn meer intieme en ingetogen kant horen. Als muzikant en artistiek leider bij de projecten Hiraeth, Tamala, GFVP and Liqa, he once again tells his own story where he never excludes encounters with other cultures and genres.
