BIO

Wouter Vandenabeele and Thomas Noël first met in the dark '90s as members of an underground folk group with which they spent some time making the nightlife of Ghent and Aalst unsafe.

Their musical paths split but in 2014 they met again. The hunger to work together is great and they dive from one project into another. Among other things, they worked with Turkish singer Özge Öz Erdoğan as part of De Centrale and Handelsbeurs's Yolda project (Istanbul Ekspres 2014), in Ramallah they played with Palestinian musicians (The City's Song) and they toured with South African singer Stella Khumalo. With this latest feat, they pull on board the Wase guitarist Jeroen Knapen. The Chai Connection is born. François Taillefer's percussion completes the quartet. On the menu are sentimental waltzes, bluesy grooves, oriental tunes and Sephardic music.
