In March, Barbara Ardenois takes up residency at Cultuurcentrum De Ververij in Ronse, where she’ll wrap up her stay with a try-out concert on Saturday, March 8. Joined by Swedish violinist Ingrid Rodebjer and Finnish kantele player Hanna Ryynänen, she continues shaping Triveni, her dreamy musical journey within the Dreamy Folk Flow style. This residency paves the way for her upcoming album, set to be recorded in April 2025 under the wing of Cluster.
During her two years in the North, Barbara immersed herself in Swedish herding music and Karelian kantele improvisations, weaving these influences into her lyrical accordion playing. The mesmerizing resonance of the kantele, the raw force of nature, and the vast Nordic landscapes unlocked a new dreamlike sound in her music.
The name Triveni—meaning the meeting of three rivers—reflects the fusion of these musical worlds. Over time, the Triveni Trio emerged, with Ingrid and Hanna enriching its sound through their Northern traditions and original compositions. Triveni captures the stillness of twilight, the gentle shift between day and night. Music that slows down, hushes the noise, and opens space for wonder—a counterpoint to a world that never seems to pause.
Curious to hear it live? Join us on Saturday, March 8, in Ronse for an exclusive first glimpse.
