Snaarmaarwaar
For almost 20 years, the men of Snaarmaarwaar have been touring halls and stages at home and abroad uninterruptedly.

BIO

One guitar, one mandola and one mandolin. A set of spare strings and lots of desire to play: that is all they need to light up the magical live spark with their inspiring tunes. Their latest release is called 'LYS', a reference to the fascinating, winding path their music has already taken them on, like the delightfully meandering Leie between Ghent and Deinze.

The record was recorded old school at Studio Trad: three men around a microphone, as it were, and play on. Content-wise, it became a 'back to the source', a rediscovery of the mysterious way their string sounds merge into each other until you no longer know who is playing which riff, who is launching which melody. A rediscovery, too, of that deep warmth of the sound of wood, the sparkle of the strings, the magnificent work of the instrument builder in his distant workshop. Where on previous album 'B.L.O.C.K' they were still indulging in rich dressing, heavy overdubs and endless layers, on 'LYS' the austerity and that pared-down string sound they have long patented reigns supreme. Take a seat in the delicious acoustic bath that the gentlemen will fill the room -and your heart- with.
