With Etudes for Cornet & Electronics, Stann—the solo project of Stan Nieuwenhuis—presents an intriguing and innovative musical exploration. Drawing on the rich tradition of cornet études, from Arban to Vizzutti, he places this classical practice repertoire in an entirely new context. Over the summer, he will collaborate with Daan Van Cauteren, Monique François, and Geert Custers during a residency at Rataplan in Antwerp to develop a light and projection design using video mapping, creating visuals that interact dynamically with the music.
