about troissoeur
Troissoeur consists of a collaboration of 3 brothers Vanvinckenroye (Rein, Edwin and Joris) and Pieter Thys. In the late 1990s they created a furor with their quirky, expressive, anarchic and theatrical electro-acoustic sound. Troissoeur was known as a group with a rock-solid live reputation, constantly trying to challenge themselves and surprise the audience.
They inspired countless bands and music projects that embrace bold cross-genre fusion as a new direction in contemporary folk. Twenty years ago, they performed at major international festivals around the world and signed with EMI for their album releases. In 2007, the musicians each went their own way.

After a 13-year hiatus, they picked up the thread again. In 2020–2021, they played their first series of reunion concerts to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album Trah Njim. Troissoeur then decided to carry on, with more drive than ever before. The band is currently working on a new programme, Vinistan.
Vinistan is an unknown archipelago in the Wald Sea. The musicians of Troissoeur stumbled upon it almost by chance and became fascinated by the land and its people. The Vinistanese agreed to let Troissoeur depict their lives and their world during the band’s performances.
Troissoeur's lyrics are sung in GUV (Generally Uncivilized Vinese) and tell the history of the country, the daily life of its inhabitants, and the love story of Heitir and Steindei, two sympathetic Vinistanis who Troissoeur got to know during their stay.
